Frustrated guyNot to fear! It seems it is taking longer and longer for PageRanks to update these days. As long as your site is listed in a Google search with a description and the pages are cached, it should only be a matter of time before a visible PageRank appears, assuming you are actively marketing your content and doing what you can do get some quality backlinks. Learn more about PageRank and how it’s calculated. Simply conduct a Google search to see how many of your pages are cached and/or indexed by Google using the following command:


This should list all the pages on your website that Google has indexed. You can refine this search by adding a URL at the end, ie:

All URL’s beginning with /page (ie. /page-one/, /page-two/, etc.) will be listed.

Most Likely You Have Not Been Banned

The above query will result in a list of pages that have been stored by Google. As long as there are some pages with description and cache you don’t need to worry about being banned or blacklisted. It’s possible that your site has suffered a penalty – if this is automatic you won’t receive a notification. If it’s manual, you’ll see a notice in Google Webmaster Tools.

Tips to Get Your PageRank Updated Quicker

There are several things you can do to get Google to pay more attention to your site. These include updating your pages frequently (it helps to have a blog on your site where you write something at least every other day) and establishing your link popularity through viable external links to your pages.
